Electronic devices with flexible displays

An electronic device comprising:

• a flexible display with a first portion, a second portion that is aligned with a bend axis that extends in a first direction, and a third portion, wherein the second portion is interposed between the first and third portions and wherein the first portion is configured to bend relative to the third portion about the bend axis;
• a display cover layer that overlaps the flexible display, wherein the display cover layer comprises glass and wherein the display cover layer has an upper surface and a side surface;
• a first adhesive layer between the flexible display and the display cover layer;
• and
• a second adhesive layer that conforms to and directly contacts the upper surface and the side surface of the display cover layer.

An electronic device comprising:

• a flexible display with a first portion, a second portion that is aligned with a bend axis that extends in a first direction, and a third portion, wherein the second portion is interposed between the first and third portions and wherein the first portion is configured to bend relative to the third portion about the bend axis;
• a display cover layer that overlaps the flexible display, wherein the display cover layer has first and second opposing surfaces and wherein the first surface is interposed between the second surface and the flexible display;
• an adhesive layer that conforms to and directly contacts the second surface of the display cover layer;
• and
• a matte layer that is attached to the display cover layer using the adhesive layer, wherein the matte layer has a diffuse reflection that is greater than 40%.
