Abstract
An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium includes a photoconductor, a charger, a light source, and a reflector. The charger charges a surface of the photoconductor. The light source emits charge eliminating light that discharges the surface of the photoconductor. The reflector reflects the charge eliminating light to apply reflected light to the surface of the photoconductor.

An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a recording medium, the image forming apparatus comprising:
- a photoconductor;
- a charger to charge a surface of the photoconductor;
- a light source to emit charge eliminating light that discharges the surface of the photoconductor;
- a reflector to reflect the charge eliminating light to apply reflected light to the surface of the photoconductor;
- and
- a support including an attachment surface to which a cleaning blade is attached, wherein
- the reflector is disposed on the attachment surface of the support.

- a photoconductor;
- a charger to charge a surface of the photoconductor;
- a light source to emit, in a light emitting direction, charge eliminating light that discharges the surface of the photoconductor;
- and
- a reflector to reflect the charge eliminating light to apply reflected light to the surface of the photoconductor, wherein
- an axis extending in the light emitting direction does not intersect with the photoconductor.
