Abstract
A charge-eliminating apparatus includes a charge-eliminating member for eliminating charge of a sheet while nipping and conveying the sheet, a voltage applying unit for applying a voltage to the charge-eliminating member, and a detecting unit for detecting a voltage applied to the charge-eliminating member or a current flowing through the charge-eliminating member. A controller measures an electrification charge amount of the sheet based on a detecting result of the detecting unit while the sheet passes through the charge-eliminating member.

An image forming system comprising:
- a transfer portion configured to transfer a toner image to a sheet;
- a fixing portion configured to fix the toner image transferred by the transfer portion;
- a charge supplying member configured to supply charge to the sheet while the charge supplying member is nipping and conveying the sheet, the supplying member being disposed downstream of the fixing portion in a sheet conveyance direction;
- a voltage applying unit configured to apply a voltage to the charge supplying member;
- a detecting unit configured to detect a voltage applied to the charge supplying member or a current flowing through the charge supplying member;
- a controller configured to measure an electrification charge amount of the sheet based on a detecting result of the detecting unit while the charge supplying member is nipping and conveying the sheet;
- and
- a display configured to display information on the electrification charge amount of the sheet that is measured and detected based on the detecting result of the detecting unit.

A charge adjusting apparatus comprising:
- a charge supplying member configured to supply charge to a sheet while the charge supplying member is nipping and conveying the sheet, the supplying member being disposed downstream of a fixing portion in a sheet conveyance direction for fixing a toner image that is transferred onto the sheet;
- a voltage applying unit configured to apply a voltage to the charge supplying member;
- a detecting unit configured to detect a voltage applied to the charge supplying member upon application of a voltage under constant current control;
- and
- a controller configured to be capable of performing an operation in a first mode in which the voltage applying unit applies the voltage to the charge supplying member in order to adjust the charge state of the sheet on which an image has been formed in an image forming job and in a second mode performed independently from the image forming job and in which the value of the voltage to be applied to the charge supplying member by the voltage applying unit in the first mode is determined based on the detecting result of the detecting unit while the charge supplying member is nipping and conveying the sheet.
