The invention provides a method and system for displacing and recovering solvents and oil from at least one shale or extra tight rock well that has been previously treated with a cyclic liquid solvent enhanced oil recovery process. The method of the invention includes at least one cycle of injection of one or more selected, compressed, gaseous displacing agents into the well, during an injection period, to increase pressure in the stimulated reservoir volume to render the displacing agent miscible with banked solvent and oil remaining in the SRV of the well. The system of the invention performs the method of the invention and separates the solvent, displacing agent and oil from the miscible mixture produced from the stimulated reservoir volume of the well. This invention can be applied to all prior solvent treated wells.
A method for enhanced recovery of liquid solvent remaining in a stimulated reservoir volume of a hydraulically fractured tight rock or shale oil reservoir following prior cyclic liquid solvent enhanced recovery (CLS-EOR) of oil, the solvent having been previously introduced during the CLS-EOR via one or more wells to mobilize the oil, the stimulated reservoir volume further comprising a portion of the mobilized oil, the method comprising:
