Claims22
A bar lock, comprising:
- a bar;
- an upper strap engaged to the bar, the upper strap configured to engage to an upper hinge butt;
- a first roller rotatably engaged to the bar;
- a lower strap engaged to the bar, the lower strap configured to engage to a lower hinge butt;
- a second roller rotatably engaged to the bar;
- a handle bracket affixed to the bar;
- a handle pivotally engaged to the handle bracket;
- and wherein exterior surfaces of the first roller and the second roller are configured to roll against an exterior surface of a door or a ramp;
- and,
- the bar, the upper strap, and the lower strap are configured to pivot or hingedly move relative to the upper hinge butt and the lower hinge butt to urge the exterior surfaces of the first roller and the second roller against the exterior surface of the door or the ramp.
A bar lock, comprising:
- a bar;
- an upper strap engaged to the bar, the upper strap configured to engage to an upper hinge butt;
- a lower strap engaged to the bar, the lower strap configured to engage to a lower hinge butt;
- a first roller rotatably engaged to a first end of the bar;
- a second roller rotatably engaged to a second end of the bar;
- the first roller and the second roller configured to rotate in a first direction generally perpendicular to a length of the bar and to roll against an exterior surface of a door or a ramp of a vehicle;
- the first roller and the second roller configured to rotate in a second direction generally perpendicular to the length of the bar and to roll against the exterior surface of the door or a ramp of the vehicle;
- a handle pivotally engaged to the bar between the first roller and the second roller;
- and
- the bar, the upper strap, and the lower strap are configured to pivot or hingedly move relative to the upper hinge butt and the lower hinge butt to urge exterior surfaces of the first roller and the second roller against the exterior surface of the door or the ramp.
A marring-resistant bar lock, comprising:
- a bar;
- an upper strap configured to engage to an upper hinge butt;
- a roller rotatably engaged to the bar;
- the roller comprising a central opening, the bar sized to fit into the central opening, the roller comprising an exterior surface of a polymeric or a plastic material;
- a lower strap configured to engage to a lower hinge butt;
- a handle pivotally engaged to the bar;
- the roller is configured to roll against an exterior surface of a door or a ramp;
- and
- the bar, the upper strap, and the lower strap are configured to pivot or hingedly move relative to the upper hinge butt and the lower hinge butt to urge an exterior surface of the roller against the exterior surface of the door or the ramp.
A bar lock, comprising:
- a bar;
- a strap engaged to the bar, the strap configured to engage to a hinge butt;
- a roller rotatably engaged to the bar;
- a handle bracket affixed to the bar;
- a handle pivotally engaged to the handle bracket;
- and wherein an exterior surface of the roller is configured to roll against an exterior surface of a door or a ramp;
- and
- the bar and the strap are configured to pivot or hingedly move relative to the hinge butt to urge the exterior surface of the roller against the exterior surface of the door or the ramp.
