A shear tie and methods of manufacture disclosed herein incorporate the structural configuration requirements with the incorporation of high-strength, low thermal-conducting properties of fiberglass/carbon fiber/synthetic polymer fiber to meet both structural and thermal requirements. The structural shear tie connectors disclosed herein may collect and resist superimposed loads/forces between the concrete wythes, which results in structural control of longitudinal bending within a panel. With a more efficient/stronger structural connector, fewer connectors are required to resist an equal superimposed load(s), and/or yielding higher-level composite load resisting result(s). Further, the shear tie disclosed herein allows increased strength and stiffness in a thinner connector, which may provide lower thermal conductivity than known heretofore.
