Abstract
Provided is a toilet including a bowl having a sump, a trapway in fluid communication with the sump, a first photogate coupled to the sump and configured to detect a presence of waste in the sump, and a second photogate coupled to the trapway and configured to detect a presence of waste in the trapway.
Claims10
A toilet comprising:
- a bowl including a sump;
- a trapway in fluid communication with the sump;
- a first photogate coupled to the sump and configured to detect a presence of waste in the sump;
- a second photogate coupled to the trapway and configured to detect a presence of waste in the trapway;
- and
- a controller configured to monitor the second photogate during a flush cycle to determine whether waste is present between the second photogate in response to a determination that waste is present between the first photogate.
