Abstract
The present disclosure provides a material collection system. The material collection system includes a conduit, a vacuum generator coupled to the conduit, an engine powering the vacuum generator, and a container mounted to a chassis of a vehicle. The vacuum generator generates airflow for drawing material into a material inlet of the conduit. The container receives collected material from the conduit.
Claims20
A material collection system, comprising:
- a tracked carrier, comprising:
- a chassis having a first lateral side and a second lateral side;
- a power source disposed on the chassis;
- and
- two track frames coupled to the chassis on the first lateral side and the second lateral side, each track frame comprising:
- a driving wheel;
- an idling wheel;
- a support wheel disposed between the driving wheel and the idling wheel;
- and
- an endless track;
- a conduit having a material inlet;
- a vacuum generator, comprising a fan to develop an airflow and draw material into the material inlet of the conduit;
- a material collection container to receive the material drawn from the conduit;
- a boom supporting the conduit, the boom being movable between a stowed position and an operational position;
- and
- a control system,
- wherein the tracked carrier is configured to communicate to the material collection system an output of the power source and a signal to raise or lower the material collection container, and
- wherein the material collection system is configured to communicate to the tracked carrier a signal to increase the output of the power source, a signal to turn off the power source, and a signal confirming that the material collection container can be raised or lowered.

- a load sensor configured to detect a load applied to the material collection container;
- a proximity sensor configured to detect that the material collection container is lowered to the chassis of the tracked carrier;
- and
- a control system configured to raise or lower the material collection container based on feedback of the load sensor and the proximity sensor,
- wherein when the material collection container is unloaded, a maximum tilting angle of the material collection system from a lateral side to another lateral side without tipping over is approximately 40 degrees to approximately 55 degrees, and a maximum tilting angle of the material collection system from a front to a back without tipping over is approximately 40 degrees to approximately 55 degrees.
