Abstract
A pontoon boat having a deck, a pontoon configured to float and thereby support the deck above a body of water, and a bracket assembly that couples the pontoon to the deck. The bracket assembly has a base bracket that is fixedly coupled to the deck and a hanger bracket that hangs the pontoon from the base bracket. The bracket assembly has a locked position in which the hanger bracket is fixed to the base bracket and an unlocked position in which the hanger bracket is slidable relative to the base bracket to facilitate removal of the pontoon from the deck.
Claims20
A pontoon boat comprising:
- a deck;
- a pontoon configured to float and thereby support the deck above a body of water;
- and
- a bracket assembly that couples the pontoon to the deck, the bracket assembly comprising a base bracket that is fixedly coupled to the deck and a hanger bracket that hangs the pontoon from the base bracket;
- wherein the bracket assembly has a locked position in which the hanger bracket is fixed to the base bracket and an unlocked position in which the hanger bracket is slidable relative to the base bracket to facilitate removal of the pontoon from the deck.
A pontoon boat comprising:
- a deck;
- a pontoon configured to float the deck above a body of water;
- and
- a bracket assembly that couples the pontoon to the deck, the bracket assembly comprising a base bracket that is fixedly coupled to the deck, a hanger bracket that hangs the pontoon from the base bracket, and a locking fastener having a locked position in which the hanger bracket is fixed to the base bracket and an unlocked position in which the hanger bracket is slidable relative to the base bracket to facilitate removal of the pontoon from the deck.
An apparatus for coupling a pontoon to a deck of a pontoon boat, the apparatus comprising:
- a base bracket that is fixedly coupled to the deck;
- a hanger bracket that hangs the pontoon from the base bracket;
- a locking fastener having a locked position in which the hanger bracket is fixed to the base bracket and an unlocked position in which the hanger bracket is slidable relative to the base bracket to facilitate removal of the pontoon from the deck;
- and
- a service tool that is attachable to the apparatus, wherein attachment of the service tool to the apparatus facilitates sliding of the hanger bracket relative to the base bracket in the unlocked position.
