Articulating, self-centering truck for personal mobility vehicles

A system comprising:

• a mounting block:
• configured to mount to a deck configured to support a user;
• and
• defining:
• a first pivot feature;
• a second pivot feature vertically offset from the first pivot feature;
• and
• a right wheel upright;
• a left wheel upright;
• a first lateral link pivotably coupled to the first pivot feature;
• a second lateral link:
• coupled to the pivot block;
• cooperating with the right wheel upright, the left wheel upright, and the first lateral link to form a four-bar linkage;
• and
• a spring element:
• configured to bias the second lateral link toward a neutral position, the deck parallel to a ground surface when the second lateral link occupies the neutral position;
• and
• configured to yield during rotation of the second lateral link relative the mounting block to:
• enable the deck to rotate relative to the ground surface;
• and
• apply a restoring moment to the second lateral link to return the second lateral link to the neutral position.

A system comprising:

• a mounting block:
• configured to mount to a deck configured to support a user;
• and
• comprising:
• a first pivot;
• and
• a second pivot vertically offset from the first pivot;
• a right wheel upright;
• a left wheel upright;
• a first lateral link pivotably coupled to the mounting block via the first pivot;
• a second lateral link:
• pivotably coupled to the mounting block via the second pivot;
• and
• cooperating with the right wheel upright, the left wheel upright, and the first lateral link to form a four-bar linkage;
• and
• a spring element:
• configured to bias the second lateral link toward a neutral position, the deck parallel to a ground surface when the second lateral link occupies the neutral position;
• and
• configured to yield to torque applied between the second lateral link and the mounting block to enable the deck to rotate relative to the ground surface when the deck is occupied by the user.
