Flat metal product and component based thereon

A flat metal product with a texture having on at least one of a top side and bottom side of the flat metal product and with an average peak-to-valley height difference dm-v and an average distance from the valley edge rv, wherein the product of dm-v and rv is at least 18 μm2, wherein (a) the resistance to abrasion Aresist is defined as the product of the average peak-to-valley height difference dm-v and the average distance from the valley edge rv, and Aresist is at least 18 μm2;

• and (b) the texture consists of depressions and lands arranged between the depressions, the texture being based on a repeating pattern arranged in a grid having lattice distances in the range from 50 μm to 500 μm.
