Abstract
A device for a soft tissue treatment of a patient. The device includes an applicator including at least one electrode, a fastening mechanism to fix the applicator to a body part of a patient, and a control unit including a microprocessor to control the at least one electrode. The at least one electrode may provide a radiofrequency energy and an electric current. The radiofrequency energy may cause a heating of a soft tissue. The electric current may cause a muscle contraction. The body part includes a face or a chin.
Claims23
A device for a treatment of a patient, comprising:
- a first applicator configured to be attached to a body part of the patient and configured to provide radiofrequency energy to a first treatment area of the body part,
- wherein the radiofrequency energy is configured to cause a heating of soft tissue within the first treatment area in a range of 37° C. to 50° C.;
- a second applicator independently moveable relative to the first applicator, the second applicator configured to be attached to the body part of the patient and configured to provide pulsed electric current to a second treatment area of the body part,
- wherein the pulsed electric current is configured to cause a contraction of a muscle within the second treatment area and is provided within a series of envelopes;
- a first fastening mechanism configured to attach the first applicator to the first treatment area;
- a second fastening mechanism configured to attach the second applicator to the second treatment area;
- and
- a control unit configured to control the heating of the soft tissue by the radiofrequency energy and the muscle contraction by the pulsed electric current,
- wherein the radiofrequency energy has a frequency in a range of 100 kHz to 550 MHz and is provided in pulses with a duration in a range of 50 μs to 100 s,
- wherein the pulsed electric current comprises a series of rectangular, triangular, sinusoidal, or exponential shaped pulses repeating with a frequency up to 12 kHz.
A method of a treatment of a patient, comprising:
- attaching an applicator to a body part of the patient by a fastening mechanism;
- providing both radiofrequency energy and electric current by the applicator to the body part in order to provide the treatment of the patient;
- controlling the radiofrequency energy and the electric current by a control unit comprising a microprocessor;
- heating a surface of skin of the body part in a range of 37° C. to 50° C. with the radiofrequency energy;
- causing a contraction of a muscle within the body part with the electric current;
- providing the electric current in pulses within current envelopes;
- and
- modulating amplitudes of the pulses within each current envelope by the control unit,
- wherein a shape of the current envelope is formed by a modulation of the amplitudes of consecutive pulses of the pulsed electric current contained in the current envelope.
A method of treatment of a patient, comprising:
- attaching a first applicator to a body part of the patient with a first fastening mechanism;
- providing radiofrequency energy to a first treatment area of the body part;
- causing a heating of soft tissue within the first treatment area in a range of 37° C. to 50° C. by the radiofrequency energy;
- attaching a second applicator independently moveable relative to the first applicator to the body part of the patient with a second fastening mechanism;
- providing pulsed electric current within a series of envelopes to a second treatment area of the body part;
- causing a contraction of a muscle within the second treatment area by the pulsed electric current;
- controlling the heating of the soft tissue by the radiofrequency energy and the muscle contraction by the pulsed electric current by a control unit,
- providing the radiofrequency energy with a frequency in a range of 500 kHz to 80 MHz;
- providing the pulsed electric current in a series of rectangular, triangular, sinusoidal, or exponential shaped pulses with a frequency of pulses up to 12 kHz.
