Eye health data analysis using artificial intelligence

A computer system for analyzing data received from smart contact lenses, comprising:

• one or more processors, one or more computer-readable memories, one or more computer-readable tangible storage devices, and program instructions stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices for execution by at least one of the one or more processors via at least one of the one or more memories, wherein the computer system performs a method comprising:
• receiving, by a mobile device, biometric data from one or more sensors located on a contact lens substrate on an eye of a user, the biometric data comprising, at least in part, a moisture level of the eye of the user, and wherein the contact lens substrate further comprises a tear fluid storage chamber;
• collecting tear fluid in the tear fluid storage chamber, using an osmosis mechanism, during normal secretion and blinking;
• identifying a plurality of environmental parameters associated with a location of the user using a plurality of internet-of-things (IoT) devices communicatively connected with the mobile device and the contact lens substrate;
• determining the moisture level in the eye of the user, based on the received biometric data from the one or more sensors located on the contact lens substrate on the eye of the user;
• comparing the moisture level in the eye of the user to a predetermined threshold based on moisture level patterns of the eye of the user;
• in response to determining that the moisture level in the eye of the user is below the predetermined threshold, automatically adjusting at least one of the plurality of environmental parameters associated with the location of the user;
• and
• releasing the collected tear fluid from the tear fluid storage chamber, using the osmosis mechanism, to temporarily relieve dry eye symptoms.

A computer program product, comprising:

• one or more computer readable storage media, and program instructions collectively stored on the one or more computer readable storage media, the program instructions comprising:
• program instructions to receive, by a mobile device, biometric data from one or more sensors located on a contact lens substrate on an eye of a user, the biometric data comprising, at least in part, a moisture level of the eye of the user, and wherein the contact lens substrate further comprises a tear fluid storage chamber;
• program instructions to collect tear fluid in the tear fluid storage chamber, using an osmosis mechanism, during normal secretion and blinking;
• program instructions to identify a plurality of environmental parameters associated with a location of the user using a plurality of internet-of-things (IoT) devices, communicatively connected with the mobile device and the contact lens substrate;
• program instructions to determine the moisture level in the eye of the user, based on the received biometric data from the one or more sensors located on the contact lens substrate on the eye of the user;
• program instructions to compare the moisture level in the eye of the user to a predetermined threshold based on moisture level patterns of the eye of the user;
• in response to determining that the moisture level in the eye of the user is below the predetermined threshold, program instructions to automatically adjust at least one of the plurality of environmental parameters associated with the location of the user;
• and
• program instructions to release the collected tear fluid from the tear fluid storage chamber, using the osmosis mechanism, to temporarily relieve dry eye symptoms.
