Sports glove

A sports glove for being worn by a hand of a user, the hand including an index metacarpal and a thumb metacarpal, the hand being joined to a forearm having an ulna side, the sports glove comprising:

• a backhand panel;
• a palm panel joined to the backhand panel to form a palm cavity therebetween, the palm cavity extending from a base portion to a knuckle portion;
• finger stalls extending from the palm cavity along a longitudinal axis of the sports glove, the finger stalls comprising an index finger stall;
• a thumb stall extending from the palm cavity;
• a wrist sleeve extending from the base portion of the palm cavity;
• a wrist strap to wrap about the wrist sleeve, the wrist strap comprising a pocket, the pocket being located along the wrist strap at a location so as to extend in an arc about the longitudinal axis of the sports glove and across the ulna side of the forearm when the sports glove is being worn with the index metacarpal received within the index finger stall;
• and
• a protective panel within the pocket, the protective panel extending in the arc about the longitudinal axis of the sports glove, wherein the pocket is configured and located to secure the protective panel at an angular location about the longitudinal axis such that the protective panel wraps about the ulna side of a forearm of the user when the index metacarpal of the user is received within the index finger stall while the user is wearing the sports glove.
