Abstract
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Disclosed is a method of notifying associated network entities of a change when an existing slice of PDU sessions is replaced with an alternative slice.
Claims14
A method performed by a policy control function (PCF) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a session management function (SMF), a Session Management (SM) policy control create request message;
- transmitting, to the SMF, an SM policy control create response message including information on a policy control request trigger, wherein the policy control request trigger includes network slice replacement;
- and
- receiving, from the SMF, information associated with an alternative single-network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI) a if the network slice replacement has occurred.
A method performed by a session management function (SMF) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- transmitting, to a policy control function (PCF), a Session Management (SM) policy control create request message;
- receiving, from the PCF, an SM policy control create response message including information on a policy control request trigger, wherein the policy control request trigger includes network slice replacement;
- and
- transmitting, to the PCF, information associated with an alternative single-network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI) if the network slice replacement has occurred.
A policy control function (PCF) in a wireless communication system, the PCF comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
- receive, from a session management function (SMF), a Session Management (SM) policy control create request message,
- transmit, to the SMF, an SM policy control create response message including information on a policy control request trigger, wherein the policy control request trigger includes network slice replacement, and
- receive, from the SMF, information associated with an alternative single-network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI) if the network slice replacement has occurred.
A session management function (SMF) in a wireless communication system, the SMF comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
- transmit, to a policy control function (PCF), a Session Management (SM) policy control create request message,
- receive, from the PCF, an SM policy control create response message including information on a policy control request trigger, wherein the policy control request trigger includes network slice replacement, and
- transmit, to the PCF, information associated with an alternative single-network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI) if the network slice replacement has occurred.
