Radio network node, user equipment and methods for multi-level ack/nack feedback

A method performed by a radio network node for handling communication in a wireless communications network, the method comprising:

• providing, to a user equipment, UE, a configuration data comprising one or more settings used to determine a decoding margin for determining a type of an acknowledgement, ACK, or non-acknowledgement, NACK, message from multi-level ACK or NACK messages, the one or more settings comprising one or more of:
• a target block error ratio, BLER, an outer loop target rate, a difference between the target BLER and the outer loop target rate, and a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio, SINR, offset;
• and
• receiving, from the UE, the ACK or NACK message of the type for a received transport block, the ACK or NACK message being of the type determined based on the received configuration data.

A user equipment, UE, for handling communication in a wireless communication network, the UE comprising processing circuitry configured to:

• receive, from a radio network node, a configuration data comprising one or more settings used to determine a decoding margin for determining a type of an acknowledgement, ACK, or non-acknowledgement, NACK, message from multi-level ACK or NACK messages, the one or more settings comprising one or more of:
• a target block error ratio, BLER, an outer loop target rate, a difference between the target BLER and the outer loop target rate, and a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio, SINR, offset;
• and
• transmit, to the radio network node, the ACK or NACK message of the type for a received transport block, the ACK or NACK message being of the type determined based on the received configuration data.

A radio network node for handling communication in a wireless communications network, the radio network node comprising processing circuitry configured to:

• provide, to a user equipment, UE, a configuration data comprising one or more settings used to determine a decoding margin for determining a type of an acknowledgement, ACK, or non-acknowledgement, NACK, message from multi-level ACK or NACK messages, the one or more settings comprising one or more of:
• a target block error ratio, BLER, an outer loop target rate, a difference between the target BLER and the outer loop target rate, and a signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio, SINR, offset;
• and
• receive, from the UE, the ACK or NACK message of the type for a received transport block, the ACK or NACK message being of the type determined based on the received configuration data.
