Adjustable sealed electrical box

An electrical box assembly for installation in a wall structure having a support member, the electrical box assembly comprising:

• an electrical box having a front face with a front opening formed therein, the front opening leading into an interior of the electrical box,
• a bracket slidably coupled to an outer circumferential surface of the electrical box, the bracket configured to be securely coupled to the support member of the wall structure such that the bracket remains stationary relative to the support member and wall structure when securely coupled thereto;
• a sealing element coupled directly to the electrical box along an interface between the sealing element and the electrical box disposed at or adjacent the front face of the electrical box such that the sealing element moves in unison with the electrical box at the interface therebetween, the sealing element configured to form a seal with an inner facing surface of the wall structure when the sealing element is engaged therewith;
• and
• an adjustment mechanism configured to selectively adjust a position of the electrical box and the sealing element coupled directly thereto relative to the bracket with respect to an axial direction of the electrical box, wherein a sealing force present at the seal between the sealing element and the inner facing surface of the wall structure is adjustable via the adjustment of the position of the electrical box and the sealing element coupled directly thereto relative to the bracket with respect to the axial direction of the electrical box, wherein the adjustment of the sealing force present at the seal is caused by varying a degree of flexure or compression of the sealing element as caused by movement of the interface between the sealing element and the electrical box towards or away from the inner facing surface of the wall structure during the adjustment of the position of the electrical box and the sealing element coupled directly thereto relative to the bracket with respect to the axial direction of the electrical box.
