Abstract
A computer system receives a freight request from a shipper, where the freight request specifies a destination for a load of the shipper. The computer system implements a selection process to select a freight operator to haul a corresponding trailer of the trailer module from a location of the shipper to a destination. The trailer module may be monitored using information transmitted from the trailer, to determine when the trailer is picked up and/or delivered at the destination.
Claims20
A computing system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- one or more memory devices, the one or more memory devices storing instructions that are executable by the one or more processors to cause the computing system to perform operations, the operations comprising:
- determining, based on data collected by one or more sensors of a trailer module, that a trailer module associated with a freight request is located at a first location;
- receiving, over one or more networks from the trailer module communicatively coupled to the one or more sensors, a communication including a physical state of a trailer, the physical state of the trailer indicative of the trailer having been loaded, wherein the physical state of the trailer being determined based on the data collected by the one or more sensors, wherein the one or more sensors comprises a movement sensor;
- determining, based on the physical state of the trailer indicative of the trailer having been loaded, an earliest time for pick up of the trailer;
- determining a projected arrival time for a freight operator is after the earliest time for pick up of the trailer;
- selecting, based on the physical state of the trailer and the projected arrival time of the freight operator being after the earliest time for the pick up of the trailer, the freight operator to perform the freight request;
- automatically detecting, based on location determining hardware of a device associated with the freight operator, that the freight operator is at the first location;
- and
- based on automatically detecting that the freight operator is at the first location, transmitting a set of data that is executable by one or more processors of the device associated with the freight operator to cause an update to the device to provide instructions for locating the trailer via a display associated with the device, wherein the instructions comprise multiple interactive interfaces comprising input elements for taking pictures and recording information about the trailer.
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- determining, based on data obtained by one or more sensors of a trailer module, that a trailer module associated with a freight request is located at a first location;
- receiving, over one or more networks from the trailer module communicatively coupled to the one or more sensors, a communication including a physical state of a trailer, wherein the physical state comprises the trailer having been loaded, wherein the physical state of the trailer being determined based on the data collected by the one or more sensors, wherein the one or more sensors comprises a movement sensor;
- determining, based on the physical state of the trailer indicative of the trailer having been loaded, an earliest time for pick up of the trailer;
- determining a projected arrival time for a freight operator is after the earliest time for pick up of the trailer;
- selecting, based on the physical state of the trailer and the projected arrival time of the freight operator being after the earliest time for the pick up of the trailer, the freight operator to perform the freight request;
- automatically detecting, based on location determining hardware of a device associated with the freight operator, that the freight operator is at the first location;
- and
- based on automatically detecting that the freight operator is at the first location, transmitting a set of data that is executable by one or more processors of the device associated with the freight operator to cause an update to the device to provide instructions for locating the trailer via a display associated with the device, wherein the instructions comprise multiple interactive interfaces comprising input elements for taking pictures and recording information about the trailer.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that are executable by one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
- determining, based on data collected by one or more sensors of a trailer, that a trailer module associated with a freight request is located at a first location;
- receiving, over one or more networks from the trailer module communicatively coupled to the one or more sensors, a communication including a physical state of a trailer, the physical state of the trailer indicative of the trailer having been loaded, wherein the physical state of the trailer being determined based on the data collected by the one or more sensors, wherein the one or more sensors comprises a movement sensor;
- determining, based on the physical state of the trailer indicative of the trailer having been loaded, an earliest time for pick up of the trailer;
- determining a projected arrival time for a freight operator is after the earliest time for pick up of the trailer:
- selecting, based on the physical state of the trailer and the projected arrival time of the freight operator being after the earliest time for the pick up of the trailer, the freight operator to perform the freight request;
- automatically detecting, based on location determining hardware of a device associated with the freight operator, that the freight operator is at the first location;
- and
- based on automatically detecting that the freight operator is at the first location, transmitting a set of data that is executable by one or more processors of the device associated with the freight operator to cause an update to the device to provide instructions for locating the trailer via a display associated with the device, wherein the instructions comprise multiple interactive interfaces comprising input elements for taking pictures and recording information about the trailer.
