Abstract
Embodiments of the present invention provide a passive relay device for farming vehicles and implements, as well as an online farming data exchange, which together enable capturing, processing and sharing farming operation data generated during combined use of the farming vehicle and farming implement at a farming business. The farming operation data includes detailed information about individual farming operations, including without limitation the type of farming operation, the location of the farming operation, the travel path for the farming operation, as well as operating parameters and operating events occurring while the farming operation is performed.
Claims20
A computer-implemented method for performing a subsequent precision agriculture operation based on previously recorded agricultural data, the method comprising:
- accessing, by at least one processor, an electronic farm record (EFR) that includes farming operation data and travel paths associated with at least one prior farming operation performed at a farming business;
- analyzing, by the at least one processor, the farming operation data and travel paths stored in the EFR to identify one or more spatial patterns of resource application, the spatial patterns indicating areas where adjustments in a subsequent farming operation would improve efficiency or yield;
- generating, by the at least one processor, precision farming program instructions for the subsequent farming operation based on the identified spatial patterns, the precision farming program instructions comprising one or more instructions for automatically activating and deactivating at least one farming activity of a farming implement at selected times and locations;
- and
- causing, by the at least one processor, a precision farming program on a computer system installed on a farming vehicle to execute the precision farming program instructions as the farming vehicle moves through a designated farming operation land segment (FOLS) associated with the EFR, thereby performing the subsequent farming operation in accordance with the EFR-based analysis.
A non-transitory computer storage medium storing computer-useable instructions that, when used by one or more computing devices, cause the one or more computing devices to perform operations comprising:
- accessing an electronic farm record (EFR) that includes historical farming operation data and travel paths associated with at least one prior farming operation performed at a farming business;
- analyzing the historical farming operation data and travel paths stored in the EFR to identify one or more spatial patterns of resource application, the spatial patterns indicating areas where adjustments in a subsequent farming operation would improve efficiency or yield;
- generating precision farming program instructions for the subsequent farming operation based on the identified spatial patterns, the precision farming program instructions comprising one or more instructions for automatically activating and deactivating at least one farming activity of a farming implement at selected times and locations;
- and
- causing a precision farming program on a computer system installed on a farming vehicle to execute the precision farming program instructions as the farming vehicle moves through a designated farming operation land segment (FOLS) associated with the EFR, thereby performing the subsequent farming operation in accordance with the EFR-based analysis.
A computerized system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- one or more computer storage media storing computer-usable instructions that, when used by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
- access an electronic farm record (EFR) that includes historical farming operation data and travel paths associated with at least one prior farming operation performed at a farming business,
- analyze the historical farming operation data and travel paths stored in the EFR to identify one or more spatial patterns of resource application, the spatial patterns indicating areas where adjustments in a subsequent farming operation would improve efficiency or yield,
- generate precision farming program instructions for the subsequent farming operation based on the identified spatial patterns, the precision farming program instructions comprising one or more instructions for automatically activating and deactivating at least one farming activity of a farming implement at selected times and locations, and
- cause a precision farming program on a computer system installed on a farming vehicle to execute the precision farming program instructions as the farming vehicle moves through a designated farming operation land segment (FOLS) associated with the EFR, thereby performing the subsequent farming operation in accordance with the EFR-based analysis.
