Abstract
A system and method for providing access to third-party software tools as a service. A service access manager can communicate with one or more third parties to manage licenses associated with third-party software tools. A machine learning model can be trained using logs generated by the system and causes of detected errors to automatically determine the cause of errors occurring in the future. Vendor logs generated by software instances instantiated by third-party systems can be collected and used to improve error attribution.
Claims20
A server system comprising:
- a memory resource;
- and
- a processing resource operably intercoupled with the memory resource and configured to instantiate an instance of software configured to:
- communicate with a third-party system to access to a third-party software tool;
- detect an access error occurring during the communication with the third-party system, the detection based on an operational log obtained recorded during the communication in respect of operation of one of the server system, the third-party system, or a user device;
- in response to the detection of the access error, provide the operational log as an input to an error attribution system, the error attribution system including a machine learning model trained using training data comprising:
- previous logs describing previous access errors, the previous access errors occurring during previous communications of the instance of software;
- and
- labels indicating causes of the previous access errors;
- and
- determine, based on an output of the machine learning model, a cause of the access error.

A server system comprising:
- a memory resource;
- and
- a processing resource operably intercoupled with the memory resource and configured to instantiate an instance of software configured to:
- perform an operation to communicate with a third-party system to manage a license for a third-party software tool:
- generate a set of logs describing the operation;
- detect an occurrence of an error related to the operation;
- cause to be displayed a user interface on a device associated with the server system;
- receive, as input, a classification of a cause of the error, the input received via the user interface;
- and
- generate training data for a machine learning model from the set of logs and the classification of the cause of the error, the training data configured to cause a machine learning model trained using the training data to receive a new set of logs describing a new set of operations of the instance of software resulting in a new error as input and provide a cause of the new error as output.

A server system comprising:
- a memory resource;
- and
- a processing resource operably intercoupled with the memory resource and configured to instantiate an instance of software configured to:
- communicate with a third-party system to manage a license for a third-party software tool;
- record, during the communication, a set of operational logs in respect of operation of the server system;
- receive a set of vendor logs from the third-party system, the set of vendor logs describing a set of vendor operations occurring at the third-party system in response to the communication;
- detect an error occurring during the communication with the third-party system, the detection based on the set of operational logs or the set of vendor logs;
- provide the set of vendor logs and the set of operational logs to a machine learning model trained on prior errors labelled with respective causes;
- determine a cause of the error based on an output of the machine learning model.
