Abstract
Imaging systems and methods of multiple fluorophore visualization involving a videoscope. According to embodiments of the disclosure simultaneous visualization of each fluorophore the spatial distribution of fluorophores could be separately visualized by fusing the images and colouring each fluorophore differently. The distribution of each fluorophore could allow for Boolean logic on the fluorescence singles where the combination of fluorophores detected in each pixel is indicative of the state of the tissue.
Claims20
An imaging system for simultaneously visualizing each fluorophore of a plurality of fluorophores disposed in a spatial distribution, the system comprising:
- at least one camera comprising a multi-channel image sensor configured to detect each fluorophore in a distinct channel;
- at least one filter in optical communication with each at least one camera, each at least one filter configured to filter light from each at least one camera in one mode of independently and tandemly;
- at least one aperture feature in optical communication with each at least one filter, the at least one aperture feature configured to independently limit transmission of filtered light from each at least one filter;
- a zoom feature comprising at least one zoom channel in optical communication with each at least one aperture feature, each at least one zoom channel configured to independently zoom, and each at least one zoom channel configured to independently zoom independently limited filtered light from each at least one aperture feature;
- at least one prism in optical communication each at least one zoom channel, the at least one prism configured to redirect independently zoomed, independently limited, filtered light from each at least one prism;
- and
- a shared focus feature in optical communication with the at least one prism, the shared focus feature comprising a shared focus channel, and the shared focus feature configured to focus redirected, independently zoomed, independently limited, filtered light;
- and
- a processor operable by executable instructions, the processor configured to:
- fuse interdependently acquired images corresponding to the distinct channels, and apply a distinct color to each fluorophore to produce a composite display;
- and
- apply Boolean logic to per-pixel fluorophore data such that a combination of fluorophores detected in a pixel is indicative of a tissue state, and output an indication of the tissue state for display.
A method of providing an imaging system for simultaneously visualizing white light and visible fluorescent light, the method comprising providing an imaging system comprising at least one camera, filter and prism and configuring a processor to:
- fuse interdependently acquired fluorophore images and apply a distinct color to each fluorophore;
- and
- apply Boolean logic to per-pixel fluorophore data such that a combination of fluorophores detected in each pixel indicates a tissue state.
A method of simultaneously visualizing each fluorophore of a plurality of fluorophores disposed in a spatial distribution, the method comprising:
- acquiring, with a multi-channel camera, fluorescence image data for the plurality of fluorophores in distinct channels;
- fusing interdependently acquired images corresponding to the distinct channels;
- applying a distinct color to each fluorophore to generate a composite display;
- and
- applying Boolean logic to per-pixel fluorophore data so that a combination of fluorophores detected in a pixel indicates a tissue state, and displaying an indication of the tissue state.
