Abstract
A system for virtual Doppler and/or aperture enhancement, preferably including one or more transmitter arrays, receiver arrays, and/or signal processors, and optionally including one or more velocity sensing modules. A method for virtual Doppler and/or aperture enhancement, preferably including transmitting a set of probe signals, receiving a set of reflected probe signals, and/or analyzing the set of received probe signals.

An apparatus comprising:
- a signal processor configured to (i) control a generation of a plurality of probe signals, (ii) generate return data in response to analyzing an incidence of a reflection of said plurality of probe signals from a target detected by one or more receivers;
- and
- a velocity module configured to (i) generate respective radial velocity estimates of said target for each of said receivers in response to said return data, (ii) determine a plurality of radial velocity candidates in response to (a) said respective radial velocity estimates and (b) a Doppler aliasing velocity of said plurality of probe signals, (iii) determine a plurality of presumptive looking angles corresponding to said return data for said plurality of probe signals in response to each of said radial velocity candidates, (iv) select a radial velocity from said radial velocity candidates based on said plurality of presumptive looking angles corresponding to each of said return data, and (v) determine an egovelocity of at least one of transmitters or one of said receivers in response to said radial velocity selected.
A method for radar detection comprising:
- transmitting a plurality of probe signals from one or more transmitters;
- generating return data in response to an incidence of a reflection of said plurality of probe signals from a target on one or more receivers;
- generating respective radial velocity estimates of said target for each of said receivers in response to said return data;
- determining a plurality of radial velocity candidates in response to (a) said respective radial velocity estimates and (b) a Doppler aliasing velocity of said plurality of probe signals;
- determining a plurality of presumptive looking angles corresponding to said return data for said plurality of probe signals in response to each of said radial velocity candidates;
- selecting a radial velocity from said radial velocity candidates based on said plurality of presumptive looking angles corresponding to each of said return data;
- and
- determining an egovelocity of at least one of the transmitters or one of the receivers in response to said radial velocity selected.
