Abstract
An air conditioner unit includes an indoor heat exchanger, an outdoor heat exchanger, and a base pan below the indoor heat exchanger and the outdoor heat exchanger. Methods of operating the air conditioner unit may include, or a controller of the air conditioner unit may be configured for, detecting, with a level sensor, a level of condensate in the base pan above a predetermined threshold level and operating the air conditioner unit in a fan only mode in response to detecting the level of condensate above the predetermined threshold level.
Claims14
A method of operating an air conditioner unit, the air conditioner unit comprising an indoor heat exchanger, an outdoor heat exchanger, and a base pan below the indoor heat exchanger and the outdoor heat exchanger, the method comprising:
- detecting, with a level sensor, a level of condensate in the base pan above a predetermined threshold level, wherein the level sensor comprises a float switch;
- operating the air conditioner unit in a fan only mode in response to detecting the level of condensate above the predetermined threshold level;
- and
- running a slinger motor of the air conditioner unit in response to detecting the level of condensate above the predetermined threshold level with the float switch.
An air conditioner unit comprising:
- an indoor heat exchanger;
- an outdoor heat exchanger;
- a base pan below the indoor heat exchanger and the outdoor heat exchanger;
- a level sensor comprising a float switch;
- and
- a controller, the controller configured for:
- detecting, with the float switch of the level sensor, a level of condensate in the base pan above a predetermined threshold level;
- operating the air conditioner unit in a fan only mode in response to detecting the level of condensate above the predetermined threshold level;
- and
- running a slinger motor of the air conditioner unit in response to detecting, with the float switch, the level of condensate above the predetermined threshold level.
