Abstract
A system and method for controlling a hydraulic fracturing pumping system is described herein. The method can include stopping an engine coupled to a hydraulic fracturing pumping system including at least one pump by supplying pressure from an accumulator to a hydraulic braking system including a brake. The method can also include starting the engine coupled to the hydraulic fracturing pumping system and releasing the brake.
Claims20
A method of operating a brake system, comprising:
- turning on a mainswitch of a pump trailer and an engine, and allowing a transmission to rotate;
- setting a brake so that the transmission is not rotating;
- turning off the engine and unsetting the brake while the transmission is in neutral;
- setting the brake while the engine is off and the mainswitch remains on;
- setting the brake at a force sufficient to prevent rotation of the transmission;
- and
- turning off the mainswitch to drain an accumulator.
4 more elements
A brake system having hydraulic control, comprising:
- a brake configured to stop a pump when an engine is stationary;
- an accumulator device coupled to the brake, the accumulator device including:
- an accumulator,
- a pressure sensor, and
- a check valve;
- a safety block coupled to the accumulator and including:
- a first valve,
- a second valve,
- an overflow valve, and
- a solenoid valve, and
- wherein the accumulator device and the safety block are configured to engage the safety block to stop the pump when the engine is stationary.
