Abstract
Example embodiments relate to a method of protecting a surface of an e-vaping device portion from corrosion, the method including preparing a coating mixture configured to protect the surface from corrosion, and coating the surface with a protective coating based on the coating mixture, wherein the coating is performed via one of electrodeposition, dipping, spraying, and vapor deposition, and the coating mixture includes at least one of a silane and a resin.

An e-vaping device including:
- a reservoir configured to hold pre-vapor formulation;
- a heater;
- a heater coating on a surface of the heater;
- and
- a reservoir coating on a surface of the reservoir,
- the heater coating and the reservoir coating containing a coating material, the coating material including a first polymer, the first polymer including chitosan, and a filler, the filler including at least one of colloidal silica TiO2, clay, ZrO2, ZrO2—Y2O3, CeO2, Al2O3, or a combination thereof.
