Abstract
An aromatic polyimide powder for a molded body, in which a volatile matter content contained in the aromatic polyimide powder is 0.50 to 5.00% by mass relative to 100% by mass of the aromatic polyimide powder of 25° C., and when molded, the aromatic polyimide powder provides an aromatic polyimide molded body having a flexural strength of 60 MPa or more.
Claims6
An aromatic polyimide powder for a molded body, wherein a volatile matter content contained in the aromatic polyimide powder is 1.03 to 5.00% by mass relative to 100% by mass of the aromatic polyimide powder of 25° C., and when molded, the aromatic polyimide powder provides an aromatic polyimide molded body having a flexural strength of 60 MPa or more, wherein the aromatic polyimide molded body is obtained by uniaxially pressing the aromatic polyimide powder at a pressure of 6000 kgf/cm2 at room temperature and pressureless firing an obtained uniaxially pressed body under atmospheric air at a temperature of 400° C. without going through a heating and compressing process of simultaneously applying pressure and heat, wherein the aromatic polyimide powder comprises an aromatic polyimide containing a unit derived from 2,3,3′,4′-biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride.
A method for improving the mechanical strength of an aromatic polyimide molded body, the method comprising adjusting the volatile matter content of an aromatic polyimide powder as a raw material to 1.03 to 5.00% by mass relative to 100% by mass of the aromatic polyimide powder of 25° C., wherein
- the aromatic polyimide molded body is obtained by uniaxially pressing the aromatic polyimide powder as the raw material at a pressure of 4000 to 7000 kgf/cm2 at room temperature and pressureless firing an obtained uniaxially pressed body under atmospheric air without going through a heating and compressing process of simultaneously applying pressure and heat, and
- the aromatic polyimide powder comprises an aromatic polyimide containing a unit derived from 2,3,3′,4′-biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride.
