A compound having the formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof:
- wherein,
- X is selected from the group consisting of CH2, C═O, C═NO-alkynyl, NH, O, S, CH-phenyl, CH-benzyl, CH-thiophenyl, CH-furyl, and CH-pyridyl,
- R is selected from the group consisting of H, phenyl optionally substituted with halo or methoxy, benzyl, thiophenyl, furyl, pyridyl, C1-C6 alkyl, CF3, NO2, F, Br, Cl, COH, COOH, CN, OCH3, OH, —C═C, alkynyl, and NH2;
- R1 and R2 are independently selected from the group consisting of C1-C6 alkyl,
- with one or more counterions, including
- PF
- 6

- ,
- and
- with one or more counterions, including
- PF

- ,
- wherein n is 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, or 16, or, R1 and
- R2, taken together with the N to which they are bound, form a piperidine or piperazine that is optionally substituted with Z;

- Z is phenyl optionally substituted with halo or methoxy.
