Abstract
A portable marine anchoring device maximizes holding capacity while anchored into a body of water and a portable fender capable of being securely fastened to a vessel to prevent it from being dislodged over time.
Claims3
A fender for a vessel, the fender comprising:
- a flexible protection surface having a surface top and a surface back;
- a plurality of pockets formed on the surface top;
- a plurality of cushioning elements contained within the pockets;
- a gap positioned along a fold line between adjacent cushioning elements;
- a first attachment element attached to the surface back and configured to attach to a portion of the vessel;
- a second attachment element configured to attach to the vessel at a location spaced from the first attachment element, wherein the first and second attachment elements cooperate to secure the fender to the vessel;
- wherein the pockets and cushioning elements contained therein are configured to define at least one cavity on one side of the gap having a geometry that is complimentary to at least a portion of the cushioning element(s) on the other side of the gap;
- wherein the first attachment element is provided by at least one hook configured to engage a rub rail of the vessel;
- the flexible protection surface has a width at the first attachment element that is greater than its width at the gap;
- wherein the at least one cavity is positioned between portions of at least one of the cushioning elements;
- wherein the flexible protection surface is configured to fold such that at least one of the cushioning elements is receivable within the cavity of the same flexible protection surface when the flexible protection surface is folded onto itself;
- and
- wherein the at least one hook further comprises dual rail hooks that are attachable to the surface back of the protection surface and the dual rail hooks are removably attachable to a rub rail of the vessel to provide a secure connection of the portable and foldable fender to the vessel.

- a plurality of pockets formed on the surface top;
- a plurality of cushioning elements contained within the pockets;
- a gap positioned along a fold line between adjacent cushioning elements;
- a first attachment element attached to the surface back and configured to attach to a portion of the vessel;
- a second attachment element configured to attach to the vessel at a location spaced from the first attachment element, wherein the first and second attachment elements cooperate to secure the fender to the vessel;
- wherein the second attachment element comprises;
- an adjustable bungee cord that is removably attached to a bungee cord connector;
- the adjustable bungee cord comprising,
- a cord having a first end and a second end;
- a hook at the first end, the hook including a safety latch;
- and
- a connection device at the second end;
- wherein the hook is configured to removably connect with respect to the cord so as to form a loop, and
- wherein the adjustable bungee cord is removably connected to the bungee cord connector, and the safety latch is configured to prevent accidental decoupling when the bungee cord is attached to the bungee cord connector.

A fender for use with a vessel, the fender comprising:
- a protection surface having cushioning elements;
- a first attachment element configured to attach to a side portion of a vessel;
- and
- a second attachment element configured to attach to the vessel at a location spaced from the first attachment element,
- wherein the first and second attachment elements cooperate to secure the protection surface to the vessel;
- wherein the first attachment element comprises at least one hook configured to attach to a rub rail of the vessel;
- wherein the at least one hook is removably engaged with the protection surface;
- wherein the second attachment element comprises a flexible connector that comprises a tether and a hook with a safety latch configured to prevent accidental decoupling;
