Vehicle notification control device and vehicle notification control method

A vehicle notification control device for a vehicle configured to execute automated driving, the vehicle notification control device comprising:

• an operation identification unit configured to identify a predetermined operation of the vehicle to be executed in an intersection;
• and
• a notification control unit configured to cause a notification device provided in a vehicle compartment of the vehicle to make a notification, wherein
• the notification control unit is configured to make a notification related to the predetermined operation and prompting a driver of the vehicle to assist in passing the intersection during automated driving of the vehicle based on the operation identification unit identifying the predetermined operation to be executed in the intersection,
• the notification control unit is configured to make a monitoring prompting notification prompting the driver to monitor surroundings during automated driving of the vehicle based on the following conditions being satisfied:
• (i) the operation identification unit identifies a right or left turn to be executed in the intersection as the predetermined operation, and
• (ii) a request for a driving operation is temporarily made to the driver.

A vehicle notification control device for a vehicle configured to execute automated driving, the vehicle notification control device comprising:

• an operation identification unit configured to identify a predetermined operation of the vehicle to be executed in an intersection;
• and
• a notification control unit configured to cause a notification device provided in a vehicle compartment of the vehicle to make a notification, wherein
• the notification control unit is configured to make a notification related to the predetermined operation and prompting a driver of the vehicle to assist in passing the intersection during automated driving of the vehicle based on the operation identification unit identifying the predetermined operation to be executed in the intersection,
• the notification control unit is configured to display a surrounding situation image and a scheduled route image on an indicator for traveling in the intersection, the surrounding situation image indicating a surrounding situation of the vehicle, the scheduled route image indicating a scheduled route of the vehicle in the surrounding situation image,
• the vehicle is a host vehicle,
• the notification control unit is configured to
• display the scheduled route image up to a point where route intersection occurs based on occurrence of the route intersection, the route intersection being an intersection where the scheduled route of the host vehicle intersects with an other vehicle or a scheduled route of the other vehicle, and
• display a traveling direction image indicating a traveling direction scheduled by the host vehicle at an exit of the intersection that the host vehicle passes, and
• the notification control unit is configured to display the scheduled route image without the scheduled route image reaching an extension of a lane of the other vehicle based on the occurrence of the route intersection and the operation identification unit identifying a right or left turn toward the lane of the other vehicle.

A vehicle notification control method for a vehicle configured to execute automated driving, the method comprising:

• identifying a predetermined operation of the vehicle to be executed in an intersection;
• and
• making a notification related to the predetermined operation during automated driving of the vehicle based on the identifying the predetermined operation, the notification prompting a driver of the vehicle to assist in passing the intersection, wherein
• the making of the notification includes making a monitoring prompting notification prompting the driver to monitor surroundings during automated driving of the vehicle based on the following conditions being satisfied:
• (i) the operation identification unit identifies a right or left turn to be executed in the intersection as the predetermined operation, and
• (ii) a temporary stop of the vehicle is required in the intersection.

A vehicle notification control method for a vehicle configured to execute automated driving, the method comprising:

• identifying a predetermined operation of the vehicle to be executed in an intersection;
• and
• making a notification related to the predetermined operation during automated driving of the vehicle based on the identifying the predetermined operation, the notification prompting a driver of the vehicle to assist in passing the intersection, wherein
• the making of the notification includes making a monitoring prompting notification prompting the driver to monitor surroundings during automated driving of the vehicle based on the following conditions being satisfied:
• (i) the operation identification unit identifies a right or left turn to be executed in the intersection as the predetermined operation, and
• (ii) a request for a driving operation is temporarily made to the driver.
