Abstract
In an example, a method includes ejecting a drop of printing fluid from a nozzle of a printhead into a drop detection zone. An indication of detection of the drop within the drop detection zone may be determined and, based on the indication of detection of the drop, an indication of a position of the printhead may be provided.

A method comprising:
- ejecting a drop of printing fluid from a nozzle of a printhead into a drop detection zone;
- determining an indication of detection of the drop within the drop detection zone;
- and
- providing an indication of a position of the printhead along a media advance direction based on the indication of detection of the drop.

A print apparatus comprising:
- a carriage for receiving a printhead comprising a plurality of nozzles to fire drops of printing fluid;
- a drop detector to detect drops fired from the printhead;
- and
- control apparatus to:
- control the printhead to fire a drop of printing fluid from a nozzle;
- receive a signal indicative of the detection of the ejected drop from the drop detector;
- and
- derive an indication of a position of the printhead along a media advance direction within the carriage based on the signal.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
- control a specific nozzle of a printhead to fire a printing fluid drop into a drop detection zone of a print apparatus;
- and
- determine, from a detection of the drop within the drop detection zone, an indication of position of the printhead along a media advance direction.
