Machining apparatus for optical lenses, and manufacturing system having the same

A machining apparatus (1) for machining optical lenses and/or optical lens blanks (101, 102), the machining apparatus (1) being configured by a module (2)

• having a horizontally aligned conveyor section (10) for transporting containers (100) containing at least one optical lens and/or optical lens blank (101, 102),
• the conveyor section (10) extending from an entry side (3) of the module (2) to an opposite exit side (4) of the module (2),
• wherein
• the machining apparatus (1) has a container buffer store (20) and a container transport device (30),
• the container transport device (30) being designed to retrieve containers (100) from the conveyor section (10) and store said containers (100) in the container buffer store (20), and being designed to transport containers (100) back onto the conveyor section (10),
• the machining apparatus (1) having a workpiece handling station (40) having at least one parking space (41, 42, 43, 44) for in each case one container (100),
• the container transport device (30) being designed to transport containers (100) from the container buffer store (20) to the at least one parking space, or at least one of a plurality of parking spaces (41, 42, 43, 44),
• the workpiece handling station (40) having a handling device (50) which is designed to retrieve the at least one optical lens and/or optical lens blank (101, 102) from a container (100) standing on the at least one parking space, or one of the plurality of parking spaces (41, 42, 43, 44) and to transfer said container (100) to a machining station (60).
