Abstract
A sample preparation cartridge module comprises an input and output; and interconnected volumes arranged in series between the input and output, the volumes comprising a fluidic isolation chamber and an output channel connected to the fluidic isolation chamber downstream of the fluidic isolation chamber and leading to the output.
Claims19
A sample preparation cartridge module comprising:
- a biological sample input and an output;
- and
- a plurality of interconnected chambers arranged in series along a linear direction between the biological sample input and the output, the plurality of interconnected chambers comprising:
- a mixing chamber, connected to the biological sample input, to contain and mix a composition comprising a biological sample and a particulate substrate, the biological sample including a biological component,
- a fluidic isolation chamber, connected to the mixing chamber downstream of the mixing chamber, to separate, from the biological sample, the particulate substrate and the biological component,
- wherein the mixing chamber and fluidic isolation chamber are within a single body and are separated by a single openable barrier positioned at a direct interface between the mixing chamber and the fluidic isolation chamber, and
- wherein the mixing chamber and the fluidic isolation chamber are stacked along the linear direction and arranged to, during use, directly communicate with each other only through the single openable barrier, without separate longitudinal fluid channels in between, and
- an output channel connected to the fluidic isolation chamber downstream of the fluidic isolation chamber and leading to the output.
