Abstract
Intelligent aromatherapy using sensor fusion, artificial intelligence, and a dispenser which diffuses a programmable mixture consisting of a precise combination of a plurality of scents optimized to stimulate or alleviate specific physical or mental conditions. Analysis, diagnosis, prescription, and aromatherapy tailoring are implemented by measuring and deducing the physical state of the subject and tailoring the aromatherapy to mitigate problems identified in the detection phase. Continuous biometric feedback can further provide additional information on the subject's response to the aromatherapy and further tailor the therapy to provide the desired effect.
Claims19
A system for providing aromatherapy comprising:
- a plurality of biometric sensors for measuring biometric data of a subject over time on a plurality of biometric conditions of the subject;
- an aromatherapy diffuser for delivering an aromatherapy prescription comprising:
- a plurality of scent reservoirs, each scent reservoir comprising an aromatherapy scent;
- and
- an electronic control board for controlling a plurality of actuators, each actuator connected to one of the scent reservoirs;
- and
- a processor comprising a prescription engine for:
- receiving biometric data from the plurality of biometric sensors pertaining to the plurality of biometric conditions of the subject;
- combining the biometric data from the plurality of biometric sensors to establish a quantitative model of a physiological state of the subject, the physiological state of the subject being indicative of an emotional state of the subject;
- using a prescribing algorithm to prescribe the aromatherapy prescription based on the physiological state of the subject;
- receiving updated biometric data from the plurality of biometric sensors to update the physiological state of the subject;
- and
- adjusting the aromatherapy prescription to change at least one biometric condition of the subject based on the quantitative model, the processor connected to the electronic control board in the aromatherapy diffuser to provide instructions to the aromatherapy diffuser to deliver the aromatherapy prescription comprising one or more aromatherapy scents from the plurality of scent reservoirs according to a treatment condition for changing the physiological state of the subject.
