Beverage making apparatus

An apparatus for making beverages by immersing an infusible material in a liquid, said apparatus comprising at least:

• a detachable infuser container comprising a body having a bottom, walls, a top opening, and a handle extending from a region near said top opening;
• wherein said body is impermeable to said infusible material and wherein at least a portion of said body is liquid-permeable;
• a substantially rigid liquid-impermeable beverage container comprising an elevated support structure, walls, a bottom, and a top opening;
• wherein said infuser container is positionable in a first, lower stationary position in which said infuser container is inserted at least partially into said beverage container through said top opening of said beverage container, said infuser container is substantially vertically oriented, and said infusible material is immersed in liquid contained in said beverage container;
• wherein said infuser container is movable from said lower stationary position into a higher stationary position by lifting said infuser container and tilting said infuser container such that a top portion of said infuser container is located on a side of said beverage container substantially opposite to a pouring direction of said beverage container;
• wherein said handle of said infuser container engages with said support structure on said beverage container to maintain said infuser container in said higher stationary position, said bottom of said infuser container and said opening of said beverage container are substantially vertically aligned with each other and said bottom of said infuser container is constrained by being partially inserted in said top opening of said beverage container.
