Fishing lure, assembly and related method

Abstract

Fishing lures and accessories for fishing lures are described herein that enable a rigged a baitfish, such as a ballyhoo, to swim in a natural fashion when trolled from a sportfishing vessel. In one example, a fishing lure is provided that includes a central body having an elastomeric cover. The central body includes front and main regions. A notch is formed in a top surface of the central body. A hole is formed in the central body and passes through an aft end of the main region. The notch is open to the hole. The cover is formed from an elastomer and includes a tab extending into the notch. A first leader passage is formed through the tab. The first leader passage exits a top exterior surface of the cover and the tab. The first leader passage is open to the hole formed in the central body.
