Measuring and controlling human centric tunable white lights

A lighting controller comprising:

• a power supply interface;
• a processor, coupled to the power supply interface;
• a memory, coupled to the processor, and storing instructions that when executed by the processor, cause the lighting controller to perform a method comprising:
• measuring two or more voltage/current operating points of a light fixture at a first time to generate a first power signature for the light fixture, wherein the light fixture is powered by at least one power supply coupled to the power supply interface;
• obtaining a plurality of power signatures wherein a power signature of the plurality of power signatures comprises two or more target voltage/current operating points for a type of light fixture;
• selecting a target power signature from the plurality of power signatures for the light fixture by comparing the first power signature of the light fixture to one or more power signatures of the plurality of power signatures;
• measuring one or more voltage/current operating points of the light fixture at a second time, after the first time, to generate a second power signature for the light fixture;
• comparing the second power signature of the light fixture to the target power signature;
• and
• determining that the light fixture has experienced an undesired operating state based on the second power signature of the light fixture deviating from the target power signature.
