Abstract
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Embodiments disclosed herein relate to a method for determining request for resources from a network apparatus in a wireless network by a first UE of a multi-USIM UE. The method includes determining that the first UE of the multi-USIM UE need to request for resources from the network apparatus in the wireless network to transmit pending uplink data to the network apparatus or receive pending downlink data from the network apparatus.
Claims20
A method performed by a user equipment (UE) supporting a multi-universal subscriber identity module (MUSIM) in a wireless network, the method comprising:
- determining whether to request a network to release a non-access stratum (NAS) signalling connection;
- setting a request type to a NAS signalling connection release in a UE request type information element (IE) of a NAS message, in case that the UE determines to request the network to release the NAS signalling connection;
- and
- transmitting, to a network apparatus, the NAS message with the request type being set to the NAS signalling connection release in the UE request type IE,
- wherein a follow-on request indicator is set to a no follow-on request pending in the NAS message, in case that a release of the NAS signalling connection is requested.
A user equipment (UE) supporting multi-universal subscriber identity module (MUSIM) in a wireless network, the UE comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- a processor configured to:
- determine whether to request a network to release a non-access stratum (NAS) signalling connection,
- set a request type to a NAS signalling connection release in a UE request type information element (IE) of a NAS message in case that the UE determines to request the network to release the NAS signalling connection, and
- transmit, to a network apparatus via the transceiver, the NAS message with the request type being set to the NAS signalling connection release in the UE request type IE,
- wherein a follow-on request indicator is set to a no follow-on request pending in the NAS message, in case that a release of the NAS signalling connection is requested.
A method of a network apparatus in a wireless network, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a user equipment (UE) supporting a multi-universal subscriber identity module (MUSIM), a non-access stratum (NAS) message with a request type being set to a NAS signalling connection release in a UE request type information element (IE);
- and
- processing the NAS message,
- wherein a follow-on request indicator is set to a no follow-on request pending in the NAS message, in case that a release of the NAS signalling connection is requested.
A network apparatus in a wireless network, the network apparatus comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- a processor configured to
- receive, via the transceiver from a user equipment (UE) supporting a multi-universal subscriber identity module (MUSIM), a non-access stratum (NAS) message with a request type being set to a NAS signalling connection release in a UE request type information element (IE), and
- process the NAS message,
- wherein a follow-on request indicator is set to a no follow-on request pending in the NAS message, in case that a release of the NAS signalling connection is requested.
