Communication system, transmitter, and communication method

A transmitter, comprising:

• a network adapter, configured to determine a target optical path from a source communication node to a destination communication node based on a routing table,
• wherein the routing table is used to record an optical path from the source communication node to the destination communication node, and
• wherein the routing table is used to record a correspondence between the destination communication node and an input port of an optical switch network, or wherein the routing table is used to record a correspondence between the destination communication node and a wavelength;
• and
• an optical module, configured to enable the optical switch network to send, based on the target optical path, a target optical signal to a receiver connected to the destination communication node by sending the target optical signal to the optical switch network based on the target optical path, wherein the target optical signal is obtained by converting a first electrical signal sent by the source communication node.

A communication method, comprising:

• determining, by a transmitter, a target optical path from a source communication node to a destination communication node based on a routing table,
• wherein the routing table is used to record an optical path from the source communication node to the destination communication node, and
• wherein the routing table is used to record a correspondence between the destination communication node and an input port of an optical switch network, or wherein the routing table is used to record a correspondence between the destination communication node and a wavelength;
• sending a target optical signal to the optical switch network based on the target optical path, wherein the source communication node is connected to the transmitter, wherein the target optical signal is obtained by converting a first electrical signal sent by the source communication node, wherein the optical switch network comprises one or more optical switches, and wherein a plurality of optical paths are configured in the optical switch network;
• sending, by the optical switch network, based on the target optical path, the target optical signal to a receiver connected to the destination communication node;
• receiving, by the receiver, the target optical signal;
• and
• converting the target optical signal into a second electrical signal, and then sending the second electrical signal to the destination communication node.
