Crypto exchange friending

A method comprising:

• receiving, by a processing device and from a first user device corresponding to a first user account associated with a collaboration platform, a request by the first user account to establish a trusted relationship with a second user account associated with the collaboration platform;
• responsive to receiving the request, disabling messaging functionality via the collaboration platform between the first user account and the second user account;
• subsequent to disabling the messaging functionality via the collaboration platform between the first user account and the second user account, performing an authentication operation to identify whether communication occurs between a first user associated with the first user account and a second user associated with the second user account outside of the collaboration platform;
• and
• responsive to identifying that the communication occurs between the first user and the second user outside of the collaboration platform based on the authentication operation, establishing, via the collaboration platform, the trusted relationship between the first user account and the second user account.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, responsive to execution by a processing device, cause the processing device to perform operations comprising:

• receiving, by the processing device and from a first user device corresponding to a first user account associated with a collaboration platform, a request by the first user account to establish a trusted relationship with a second user account associated with the collaboration platform;
• responsive to receiving the request, disabling messaging functionality via the collaboration platform between the first user account and the second user account;
• subsequent to disabling the messaging functionality via the collaboration platform between the first user account and the second user account, performing an authentication operation to identify whether communication occurs between a first user associated with the first user account and a second user associated with the second user account outside of the collaboration platform;
• and
• responsive to identifying that the communication occurs between the first user and the second user outside of the collaboration platform based on the authentication operation, establishing, via the collaboration platform, the trusted relationship between the first user account and the second user account.
