Multicast signal processing method and device

An apparatus for transmitting multicast internet protocol (IP streams for Multicast Adaptive Bit Rate (MABR) signaling, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• a processor connected to the memory, the processor configured to:
• receive the multicast IP streams, the multicast IP streams being identified based on a Multicast Stream identifier (ID);
• and
• compress IP headers of the multicast IP streams in a link layer,
• generate link control information for a multicast related to the link layer;
• encapsulate robust header compression (ROHC) streams with the compressed IP headers;
• encapsulate a descriptor related to IP header compression and the link control information;
• and
• transmit a Generic Stream Encapsulation (GSE) stream in a physical layer, the GSE stream including the link control information, the descriptor, and the ROHC streams,
• wherein a Context ID (CID) is assigned for each multicast IP stream of the multicast IP streams based on a source IP address, a destination IP address, a source User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port and a destination UDP port,
• wherein the CID is managed separately for each GSE stream of a plurality of GSE streams,
• wherein the link control information includes a link ID,
• wherein the Link ID is mapped to a ROHC channel ID, and
• wherein the descriptor includes identification information for a ROHC channel, a maximum value of a context ID for the ROHC channel, the context ID, and a static chain byte length.

A method for receiving multicast internet protocol (IP) streams for Multicast Adaptive Bit Rate (MABR) signaling, the method comprising:

• receiving the multicast IP streams, the multicast IP streams being identified based on a Multicast Stream identifier (ID);
• decompressing Internet Protocol (IP) headers of the multicast IP streams;
• parsing link control information for a multicast and a descriptor related to IP header compression;
• and
• decapsulating IP header-compressed Robust Header Compression (ROHC) streams,
• wherein a Context ID (CID) is assigned for each multicast IP stream of the multicast IP streams based on a source IP address, a destination IP address, a source User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port and a destination UDP port,
• wherein the CID is managed separately for each Generic Stream Encapsulation (GSE) stream of a plurality of GSE streams,
• wherein the link control information includes a link ID,
• wherein the Link ID is mapped to a ROHC channel ID, and
• wherein the descriptor includes identification information for a ROHC channel, a maximum value of a context ID for the ROHC channel, the context ID, and a static chain byte length.

An apparatus for receiving multicast internet protocol (IP) streams for Multicast Adaptive Bit Rate (MABR) signaling, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• a processor connected to the memory, the processor configured to receive the multicast IP streams, the multicast IP streams being identified based on a Multicast Stream identifier (ID);
• and
• a decompressor configured to decompress Internet Protocol (IP) headers of the multicast IP streams,
• wherein link control information for a multicast and a descriptor related to IP header compression are parsed,
• wherein IP header-compressed Robust Header Compression (ROHC) streams are decapsulated,
• wherein a Context ID (CID) is assigned for each multicast IP stream of the multicast IP streams based on a source IP address, a destination IP address, a source User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port and a destination UDP port,
• wherein the CID is managed separately for each Generic Stream Encapsulation (GSE) stream of a plurality of GSE streams,
• wherein the link control information includes a link ID,
• wherein the Link ID is mapped to a ROHC channel ID, and
• wherein the descriptor includes identification information for a ROHC channel, a maximum value of a context ID for the ROHC channel, the context ID, and a static chain byte length.
