Abstract
The present specification provides a method by which a wireless power receiver transmits support information in a wireless power transmission system, and a device, the method comprising: entering a configuration phase with a wireless power transmitter; and transmitting support information to the wireless power transmitter in the configuration phase, wherein the support information includes information related to a power transfer protocol supported by means of the wireless power receiver.
Claims6
A method for a wireless power transfer system, the method performed by a wireless power receiver and comprising:
- transmitting a signal strength packet to a wireless power transmitter;
- transmitting an identification (ID) packet to the wireless power transmitter,
- wherein the ID packet includes first 1-bit information related to capabilities of a power profile;
- transmitting an extended identification (XID) packet including 8-bit information related to the power profile to the wireless power transmitter,
- wherein the power profile is a different profile from a baseline power profile (BPP) or an extended power profile (EPP),
- wherein the XID packet further includes second 1-bit information related to whether the wireless power receiver operates based on the power profile;
- and
- after transmitting the XID packet, transmitting a configuration (CFG) packet to the wireless power transmitter.
A wireless power receiver in a wireless power transfer system:
- a power pickup related to receive wireless power from a wireless power transmitter;
- and
- a communicator/controller related to communicate with the wireless power transmitter and control reception of the wireless power,
- wherein the wireless power receiver is configured for:
- transmitting a signal strength packet to the wireless power transmitter;
- transmitting an identification (ID) packet to the wireless power transmitter,
- wherein the ID packet includes first 1-bit information related to capabilities of a power profile;
- transmitting an extended identification (XID) packet including 8-bit information related to the power profile to the wireless power transmitter,
- wherein the power profile is a different profile from a baseline power profile (BPP) or an extended power profile (EPP),
- wherein the XID packet further includes second 1-bit information related to whether the wireless power receiver operates based on the power profile;
- and
- after transmitting the XID packet, transmitting a configuration (CFG) packet to the wireless power transmitter.
