Adaptive fleet vehicle dispatch with edge sensing

A method comprising:

• determining a count of vehicle passengers in a defined loading zone using a multi-access edge computing camera, based at least in part on both counting detected short-range wireless transmissions from passenger devices and machine analysis of imaging of the loading zone capture by the camera;
• determining an available fleet vehicle having present capacity to service the count of vehicle passengers;
• and
• dispatching the fleet vehicle to the loading zone responsive to determining that the available vehicle has present capacity.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause one or more system processors to perform a method comprising:

• determining a count of vehicle passengers in a defined loading zone using a multi-access edge computing camera, based at least in part on both counting detected short-range wireless transmissions from passenger devices and machine analysis of imaging of the loading zone capture by the camera;
• determining an available fleet vehicle having present capacity to service the count of vehicle passengers;
• and
• dispatching the fleet vehicle to the loading zone responsive to determining that the available vehicle has present capacity.
