System for an electronic document with state variable integration to external computing resources

A system comprising:

• memory with instructions encoded thereon;
• and
• one or more processors that, when executing the instructions, are caused to perform operations comprising:
• accessing a data structure comprising a plurality of programmable clauses associated with a document, wherein each of the plurality of programmable clauses is a digitally native contract clause that operates and is embodied as software code and defines one or more changes associated with a state of the programmable clause that is stored as a part of a history of the document on a blockchain, each programmable clause is associated with programmable logic;
• receiving user input via a user interface that establishes, for each programmable clause of a plurality of programmable clauses of a document, a respective set of external sources, wherein each external resource of each respective set of external sources is configured to integrate an external computing resource into the programmable clause;
• executing, by the one or more processors, programmable logic associated with each programmable clause of the plurality of programmable clauses, and establishing, by the at least one processor, in response to the executing, application protocol interfaces with each respective set of external sources integrated with the programmable clause;
• receiving data from each respective set of external resources via the application protocol interfaces;
• monitoring for at least one of the one or more defined changes in data received from each respective set of external sources based on the one or more defined changes referenced each respective programmable clause;
• executing, in real-time, programmable logic associated with each programmable clause based on the monitored at least one of the one or more defined changes;
• responsive to executing programmable logic associated with each programmable clause based on the monitored at least one defined change for a respective programmable clause, in real-time, determining that the state of the programmable clause is in compliance with one or more requirements associated with the document, and updating, based on the determining, the state of the respective programmable clause to the blockchain by generating a cryptographically signed update, wherein updating the state of the respective programmable clause triggers an update to a state of the document, wherein the update to the state of the document is cryptographically stored as part of the history of the document on the blockchain providing an immutable chronological record of the state of the document;
• and
• updating a parameter of the document based on the updated state.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising memory with instructions encoded thereon, the instructions, when executed, causing one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

• accessing a data structure comprising a plurality of programmable clauses associated with a document, wherein each of the plurality of programmable clauses is a digitally native contract clause that operates and is embodied as software code and defines one or more changes associated with a state of the programmable clause that is stored as a part of a history of the document on a blockchain, each programmable clause is associated with programmable logic;
• receiving user input via a user interface that establishes, for each programmable clause of the plurality of programmable clauses of the document, a respective set of external sources, wherein each external resource of each respective set of external sources is configured to integrate an external computing resource into the programmable clause;
• executing, by the one or more processors, programmable logic associated with each programmable clause of the plurality of programmable clauses, and establishing, by the at least one processor, in response to the executing, application protocol interfaces with each respective set of external sources integrated with the programmable clause;
• receiving data from each respective set of external resources via the application protocol interfaces;
• monitoring for at least one of the one or more defined changes in data received from each respective set of external sources based on the one or more defined changes referenced in each respective programmable clause;
• executing, in real-time, programmable logic associated with each programmable clause based on the monitored at least one of the one or more defined changes;
• responsive to executing programmable logic associated with each programmable clause based on the monitored at least one defined change for a respective programmable clause, in real-time, determining that the state of the programmable clause is in compliance with one or more requirements associated with the document, and updating, based on the determining, the state of the respective programmable clause to the blockchain by generating a cryptographically signed update, wherein updating the state of the respective programmable clause triggers an update to a state of the document, wherein the update to the state of the document is cryptographically stored as part of the history of the document on the blockchain providing an immutable chronological record of the state of the document;
• and
• updating a parameter of the document based on the updated state.
