Methods and systems for archiving file system data stored by a networked storage system

A non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon instructions for performing a method comprising executable code which when executed by at least one processor, causes the at least one processor to:

• read, by a scanner, entries in a manifest file of an archive data structure to generate at least one batch of entries for at least one worker process, the archive data structure including the manifest file and packed archive data files archived from a source file system, the archive data structure including checksums for the archive data files in the archive data structure;
• compare, by each worker process, metadata of each entry of a particular generated batch of entries to a destination file system to verify the particular batch of entries;
• read and re-checksum data from a target file of the destination file system to produce a new checksum and compare the new checksum to the respective checksum from the archive data structure;
• and
• copy, by each worker process, data from archive data files of the archive data structure associated with the particular batch of entries to directories and files on the destination file system to extract the archive data files to the destination file system.

A system, comprising:

• a memory containing a computer-readable medium comprising machine executable code having stored thereon instructions;
• and
• at least one processor coupled to the memory, the at least one processor configured to execute the machine executable code to cause the at least one processor to:
• read, by a scanner, entries in a manifest file of an archive data structure to generate at least one batch of entries for at least one worker process, the archive data structure including the manifest file and packed archive data files archived from a source file system, the archive data structure including checksums for the archive data files in the archive data structure;
• compare, by each worker process, metadata of each entry of a particular generated batch of entries to a destination file system to verify the particular batch of entries, wherein the metadata includes a file path and a file name;
• read and re-checksum data from a target file of the destination file system to produce a new checksum and compare the new checksum to the respective checksum from the archive data structure;
• and
• copy, by each worker process, data from archive data files of the archive data structure associated with the particular batch of entries to directories and files on the destination file system to extract the archive data files to the destination file system.
