A laser interferometer includes a laser light source, a first light splitter splitting the laser light into first and second split lights, an optical modulator modulating the first split light into reference light, a second light splitter reflecting part of interference light to generate third split light and transmitting the other part of the interference light to generate fourth split light, and first and second light receiving elements receiving the third and fourth split lights. An optical axis of the first split light is shifted from an optical axis of the reference light. A difference between an optical path length of the third split light from the second light splitter to the first light receiving element and an optical path length of the fourth split light from the second light splitter to the second light receiving element is 20 mm or less.
