Abstract
In various embodiments, an apparatus to operate with a firearm grip is provided, in which the firearm grip includes two openings, including a magazine receptacle and an aftly-positioned additional opening, the openings partitioned by a wall, the apparatus comprising: a retention system insertable into the aftly-positioned additional opening, the retention system including: a drive section; and an expansion section, driven by the drive section, and configured to restrict expansion to direction(s) that are not toward the wall. Other embodiments are disclosed and/or claimed.
Claims25
An apparatus to operate with a firearm grip, in which the firearm grip includes two openings, including a magazine receptacle and an aftly-positioned additional opening, the openings partitioned by a wall, the apparatus comprising:
- a retention system insertable into the aftly-positioned additional opening, the retention system including:
- a drive section;
- and
- an expansion section including an exterior, the expansion section driven by the drive section;
- wherein a portion of the exterior, operable to engage an interior of the aftly-positioned opening to retain a body of the retention system in the aftly-positioned additional opening, is drivable against a receiving portion of the interior, characterized in that said receiving portion is not part of said wall.
An apparatus to operate with a firearm grip, the apparatus comprising:
- a retention system insertable into an opening in the firearm grip, the retention system including:
- a drive section;
- and
- an expansion section driven by the drive section;
- wherein the retention system includes a slideable attachment interface to couple an attachment, having a corresponding attachment interface, to the retention system, the slideable attachment interface to restrict a coupling movement of the attachment relative to the firearm grip, wherein the coupling movement is along a plane, wherein the slideable attachment interface comprises a male feature or a female feature of a dovetail interface, a T-slot interface, or another undercut interface.
An apparatus, comprising:
- an attachment;
- and
- a retention system to couple the attachment to a firearm, the retention system insertable into an opening positioned aftly of a magazine receptacle, the retention system including a drive section and an expansion section, driven by the drive section, wherein a portion of an exterior of the expansion section, operable to engage an interior of said opening to retain a body of the retention system in said opening, is drivable against a receiving portion of the interior, characterized in that said receiving portion is not part of a wall between the opening and the magazine receptacle.
