Claims20
A stock system for weapons and/or other suitable devices, comprising:
- a stock;
- and
- a moveable assembly within the stock that has one or more moveable components configured to move relative to the stock, the moveable assembly comprising a rack and pinion assembly configured to bias a buttpad toward an extended position.
A firearm, comprising:
- a trigger assembly;
- and
- a stock system connected to the trigger assembly, the stock system comprising:
- a stock;
- a moveable assembly within the stock that has one or more moveable components configured to move relative to the stock, the moveable assembly comprising a rack and pinion assembly configured to bias a buttpad toward an extended position;
- wherein the rack and pinion assembly includes:
- a rack connected, directly or indirectly, to the buttpad;
- and
- a gear meshed with the rack to linearly move the rack towards the extended position with rotation of the gear, wherein at least one of the gear or the rack are biased to actuate a buttpad toward the extended position.

A device, comprising:
- a trigger assembly;
- and
- a stock system connected to the trigger assembly, the stock system comprising:
- a stock;
- and
- a moveable assembly within the stock that has one or more moveable components configured to move relative to the stock, the moveable assembly comprising a rack and pinion assembly configured to bias a buttpad toward an extended position;
- wherein the rack and pinion assembly includes:
- a gear configured to meshed with a rack of the rack and pinion assembly to actuate movement of the rack with rotation of the gear, wherein at least one of the gear or the rack are biased to actuate a buttpad toward the extended position by at least a constant force spring.
