Abstract
An air delivery device for supplying air to an internal combustion engine. The air delivery device has a body constructed from two pieces removably joined together as a sealed unit to prevent leakage of air from an interior of the body. The body has an inlet through which air enters the interior and an outlet through which air exits from the body for supplying the air to an internal combustion engine. A dual seal inlet coupler is removably connected to the body at the inlet and configured to receive incoming air and direct the air through the inlet and into the interior of the body.
Claims15
An air delivery device for supplying air to an internal combustion engine, the air delivery device comprising:
- a body constructed from two pieces removably joined together as a sealed unit to prevent leakage of air from an interior of the body, the body having an inlet through which air enters the interior and an outlet through which air exits from the body for supplying the air to the internal combustion engine;
- and
- an inlet coupler removably connected to the body at the inlet and configured to receive incoming air and direct the air through the inlet and into the interior of the body;
- wherein the two pieces of the body are sealed together by O-rings to prevent air leakage from the interior of the body under pressure.
An air delivery device for supplying air to an internal combustion engine, the air delivery device comprising:
- a body constructed from two pieces removably joined together as a sealed unit to prevent leakage of air from an interior of the body, the body having an inlet through which air enters the interior and an outlet through which air exits from the body for supplying the air to the internal combustion engine;
- and
- an inlet coupler removably connected to the body at the inlet and configured to receive incoming air and direct the air through the inlet and into the interior of the body;
- wherein one of the two pieces of the body has a housing portion configured for connection to a reverse pressure disc assembly for releasing pressure from the interior of the body in response to a reverse pressure condition.
An air delivery device for supplying air to an internal combustion engine, the air delivery device comprising:
- a body constructed from two pieces removably joined together as a sealed unit to prevent leakage of air from an interior of the body, the body having an inlet through which air enters the interior and an outlet through which air exits from the body for supplying the air to the internal combustion engine;
- and
- an inlet coupler removably connected to the body at the inlet and configured to receive incoming air and direct the air through the inlet and into the interior of the body;
- wherein each piece of the body is provided with two monitoring ports.
An air delivery device for supplying air to an internal combustion engine, the air delivery device comprising:
- a body constructed from two pieces removably joined together as a sealed unit to prevent leakage of air from an interior of the body, the body having an inlet through which air enters the interior and an outlet through which air exits from the body for supplying the air to the internal combustion engine;
- an inlet coupler removably connected to the body at the inlet and configured to receive incoming air and direct the air through the inlet and into the interior of the body;
- and
- internal dimple porting formed on an interior surface of the body.
An air delivery device for supplying air to an internal combustion engine, the air delivery device comprising:
- a body constructed from two pieces removably joined together as a sealed unit to prevent leakage of air from an interior of the body, the body having an inlet through which air enters the interior and an outlet through which air exits from the body for supplying the air to the internal combustion engine;
- an inlet coupler removably connected to the body at the inlet and configured to receive incoming air and direct the air through the inlet and into the interior of the body;
- and
- wherein the two pieces of the body are joined together by stainless steel or titanium hardware screws and two O-rings that join the two pieces together to seal the unit from potential air leaks when under pressure.
