Sewer expansion plug

A sewer expansion plug for connecting a sewer hose to a blackwater disposal system, comprising:

• a molded plastic handle comprising a cam-shaped shoulder;
• a transparent elbow pipe attachable to a blackwater disposal hose;
• a wedge plate mechanically connected to the handle and slides, and wherein the wedge plate encircles a portion of the transparent elbow pipe;
• a flexible elastomeric grip ring comprising variable diameters and surrounding a circular frame of the wedge plate, and slides;
• and
• a molded plastic base attached to the grip ring, wedge plate, and transparent elbow pipe, wherein the molded plastic base aligns the wedge plate and grip ring,
• wherein the wedge plate translates a rotational force generated by rotation of the molded plastic handle into linear movement of the wedge plate along the slides and wherein the diameter of the flexible elastomeric grip ring is varied by actuation of the handle mechanically connected to the wedge plate interfacing with the grip ring.

A method of connecting a sewer expansion plug to a cleanout pipe, the method comprising:

• inserting a base of the sewer expansion plug into the cleanout pipe;
• expanding a grip ring attached to the base by rotating a handle;
• locking the handle in place via a cam lock;
• channeling waste through a connected sewer hose;
• releasing the handle to release the cam lock and retract the grip ring;
• and
• removing the expansion plug from the cleanout pipe.
