Abstract
Home care compositions are disclosed herein. According to one aspect, provided is a home care composition that includes a preservative comprising alpha hydroxy acid; and from about 1 to about 25 wt. % of a surfactant system comprising: (i) an anionic surfactant, (ii) a non-ionic surfactant, and (iii) optionally, an amphoteric surfactant; wherein the home care composition has a Micro Robustness Index of 0.85 or greater, and all weight percentages are based on the total weight of the home care composition.
Claims20
A home care composition comprising:
- a preservative system comprising an alpha hydroxy acid and/or a salt thereof;
- from about 1 to about 20 wt. % of a surfactant system comprising:
- (i) an anionic surfactant comprising sodium laureth sulfate,
- (ii) a non-ionic surfactant comprising decyl glucoside, and
- (iii) optionally, an amphoteric surfactant;
- water, and
- one or more optional components selected from sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, a fragrance, and a colorant;
- wherein the preservative system comprises a first alpha hydroxy acid which is levulinic acid and/or a salt thereof present in an amount of from 0.2 wt. % to 0.5 wt. %, and a second alpha hydroxy acid comprising citric acid;
- wherein the levulinic acid and/or a salt thereof and the second alpha hydroxy acid and/or a salt thereof have a weight ratio of from 0.2:0.15 to 0.5:0.15;
- and
- wherein the home care composition has a Micro Robustness Index of 0.85 or greater, and all weight percentages are based on the total weight of the home care composition.

A home care composition comprising:
- a preservative system comprising:
- (i) an alpha hydroxy acid and/or a salt thereof,
- (ii) one or more acid other than an alpha hydroxy acid;
- from about 1 to about 20 wt. % of a surfactant system comprising:
- (i) an anionic surfactant comprising sodium laureth sulfate,
- (ii) a non-ionic surfactant comprising decyl glucoside, and
- (iii) optionally, an amphoteric surfactant,
- water;
- and
- one or more optional components selected from sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, fragrance, and a colorant;
- wherein the preservative system comprises a first alpha hydroxy acid which is levulinic acid and/or a salt thereof present in an amount of from 0.2 wt. % to 0.5 wt. %, and a second alpha hydroxy acid comprising citric acid;
- wherein the levulinic acid and/or a salt thereof and the second alpha hydroxy acid and/or a salt thereof have a weight ratio of from 02:0.15 to 0.5:0.15;
- and
- wherein the home care composition has a Micro Robustness Index of 0.85 or greater, and all weight percentages are based on the total weight of the home care composition.
